Have you stayed at a Nova Scotia hotel? Share your vacation experiences with others.| Radisson Suites Hotel | Linda ~ Guelph, Ontario |
Arrival:
Check in was flawless. The room was ready on time, in fact early! The lobby had coffee, tea and hot chocolate available at all times.
Rooms:
These are suites, so are quite large, two tv's, separate living room area, and a kitchen area with a sink, fridge and microwave. The rooms at the back have a nice view of the waterfront area. Rooms are clean, well maintained.
Restaurants and Bars:
The only restaurant is Ryan Duffy's. Very nice restaurant, and a great menu, but can be expensive. We had breakfast there every morning and lunch once. Good service in the restaurant, friendly and quick!
Beach/Pools/Grounds:
On the 2nd floor there is an exercise room, pool & hot tub. The exercise room has 5 pieces of equipment, including a treadmill, as well as free weights. It is in an enclosed area separate from the pool, with a TV and fan. The pool is a fair size, well maintained. It was never busy in either area and often the pool was empty and we were the only ones in the fitness room!

Located in downtown Halifax there is lots to do all within walking distance. About a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk. Quiet in the winter, but fun and busy in the summer months. 5 minutes in the opposite direction, is Spring Garden Road, lots of good selection with shopping.

There are many restaurants in the area, all very good. The ones I have been to and would recommend are:
Di Maurizio's - Italian food, by far the best one I went to ( and most expensive !)
Economy Shoe Shop - good food, and very good atmosphere, almost feels like you are in a cave!
The Triangle - pub style, local musicians play there, 3 levels, inexpensive, and always busy!
Other Comments:
The staff at the hotel were all amazing. Front desk staff extremely friendly and helpful, providing tips on where to go, calling cabs when needed, and very accomodating.
