Visited Kelowna from Winnipeg for a 5-day long weekend at the beginning of January. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 97 North, which is the main road that goes through Kelowna and the Okanogan Valley.

Room – very clean, lot’s of room, had all of the amenities including a mini fridge. Modern furnishings.

Pool – decent indoor pool area with a hot tub.

Restaurant – none right in the hotel, but one outside the door in the same parking lot –similar to a Perkins. The hotel did provide an included continental breakfast. One of the best I’ve seen. Toast, hot and cold cereals, bagels, hot cinnamon buns, croissants, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, juices, milks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc.. They also continued to serve coffee in the lobby with fresh cookies in the early evening. Very convenient. Also many restaurants near the Holiday Inn – Boston Pizza, East Side Mario’s, Moxie’s, only to name a few, as well as many fast food/casual type restaurants and coffee houses.

Location – Very central. About 15 minutes from the airport. 10 minutes from downtown. Easy access to all of the wineries, orchards, skiing and for travel north or south in the valley. There is a mall across the street with many stores including a Wal-Mart and there is a Superstore just down the street. Also close to the Orchard Park mall and movie theatres.

There really wasn’t anything you couldn’t find within a short drive.
