Have you stayed at a Alberta hotel? Share your vacation experiences with others.| Delta Chelsea | Linda ~ Ontario |
In April 2005 I stayed at the Delta Chelsea downtown Edmonton for 3 nights. The windows in the rooms all face an indoor mall. You can look out and see people shopping but they can't see in your room. The rooms were quite large, very nice, and mine had a separate bar area with a sink. The bathrooms had jacuzzi style tubs. A little tip...do not put the entire 'body bath' they supply you with in the jacuzzi!
There is a gym within the hotel which my friend used and enjoyed and said there was always equipment available to use. As the hotel is connected to a mall, there is a lot of shopping you can do without having to go outside, including a movie theatre. To go to the larger malls i.e. West Edmonton Mall it would be a cab ride or bus ride away. We did use the local city buses to do some exploring and found them easy to use and reasonable.
The restaurant within the hotel is small but cozy and had a great breakfast buffet for $10.00.
The hotel rates were reasonable. You can earn Aeroplan points staying at the Delta.
Another little tip...The person I was travelling with had signed onto the Delta Chelsea website and signed up for a membership, no charge. This entitled her to one free breakfast and free local calls (otherwise charged $2.00 per call).
